Overseeing the establishment of a development pipeline of over 11,000 homes at Hyde, CEO Elaine Bailey has announced her intention to retire.
Sitting at the group for five years, Elaine is said to have been pivotal in the launch of several partnerships with housebuilders, contractors, Local Authorities and other HA’s, enabling Hyde to deliver homes at a “much faster pace”.
She is also said to take an active role in the government’s Building Safety Programme, including membership of the Industry Safety Standards Working Group, chaired by Dame Judith Hackitt.
On her announcement, which was made to staff this morning (16th April), Elaine Bailey said that with a lack of housing still being a huge issue in the south of England, Hyde’s role in providing more homes for those without a safe, secure, affordable home is as “important today as it has ever been.”
She added: “As I reflect on my time at Hyde, there is so much of which to be proud. We have withstood what seems like a constantly changing external environment.
“Yet we have thrived. We have come out of it stronger and able to do more.”
Alan Collett, Chair of Hyde’s Board, said: “Obviously we are sad to see Elaine go but wish her well in her retirement. I’d like to thank her for her enormous contribution to Hyde and for everything she has achieved during her time as Chief Executive.
“She leaves Hyde in an incredibly strong position, able to provide more much-needed homes for London and the south east and set to provide modern, easily accessed services to our customers.”
The recruitment process for a new CEO is said to start immediately, with the aim of making an appointment in July.
